 Palamel village is situated on the conjuction of Alappuzha, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts. Ironically Palamel is a place in Noorand Panchayat and Nooranad is in Palamel Panchayat. Educationally palamel Village has got three higher secondary schools and Nooranad Post office is situated in Palamel village. Erumakkuzhy is one of the oldest muri(kara) in palamel village.There are two Public Markets in palamel Village, one in Noorand and the other in Adikkatukulangara. The Lower Primary school at Erumakkuzhy situtaed near Nooranad Junction is the oldest educational institution in this village.
